OUR STORY

Abundant Life Church began in the home of Tony and Pam Roberts in December 2005 with eight people present. From that humble beginning the members moved to a storefront at Thompson Plaza in March 2006. From there the congregation walked across Kent Dairy Road on January 4, 2009 and made the present location their new home. Abundant Life Church is a body of Christian believers dedicated to continuing the work that was started by Jesus Christ and his disciples. We believe we are living the continuation of the Book of Acts. We also believe that as born again followers of Christ, we can experience the same power that was demonstrated on the Day of Pentecost. Abundant Life Church is affiliated with the United Pentecostal Church International. If the congregation of Abundant Life Church can assist you or your family in any way, we stand willing to help, and if you do not have a regular place of worship, we invite you to join us.

God and Jesus christ

There is one God, who has revealed Himself as Father; through His Son, in redemption; and as the Holy Spirit, by emanation. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh. He is both God and man. (See Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; I Timothy 3:16, 1 John 5:7 .)

The Bible

The Bible is the infallible Word of God and the authority for salvation and Christian living. (See II Timothy 3:15-17.)

Salvation

Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. (See Romans 3:23-25; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9.)

Repentance

We believe that all people are called to repent – it is God’s will that no one perish, but everyone come to repentance. Repentance is a commitment to turn away from sin in every area of our lives and to follow Jesus fully. (See Acts 2:38, Luke 13:3, Acts 3:19)

Water Baptism

We believe that following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, new believers are commanded by the Word of God to be baptized in Jesus name. Water baptism is an act of obedience which signifies our union with Jesus in death to sin, burial of the old nature, and resurrection to new life. (See Mark 16:16, John 3:5, Acts 2:38)

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is active in the world today and that the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues is the privilege and promise of all believers. (See John 3:5, Acts 2:38, Isaiah 28:11, Mark 16:17, Acts 1:8)

What do you believe?

The Gospel. The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ in which we partake by repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ and the infilling of the Holy Spirit as the Spirit gives utterance.

What should I wear?

There will be some people in suits, some in jeans and some business casual.

What about my kids?

Abundant Life Church provides a quality, high energy environment in our Sunday school department for children of all ages.

What are your services like?

Our services are contemporary and upbeat. Guests and members alike are encouraged to praise and worship God in any way they feel comfortable.

What will happen when I visit the first time?

First you will be greeted by our welcome team. They will assist you in finding a seat and making you familiar with the facilities. As a token of our appreciation, all first time guests receive a welcome gift.

Will I be asked for money?

We do receive an offering. There is never a pressured appeal for money.

How can I be involved?

Abundant Life Church has several ministries in which you can be involved. Life More Abundant Classes, levels 101, 201, 301 and 401, will assist you in finding your place.

What are “Small Groups” and “Life Classes”?

We encourage interaction with each other away from church. This is similar to the actions of the early church in the Book of Acts. They went into each other’s houses and ate, studied the Word of God and formed close relationships with each other.

MINISTRIES OF ABUNDANT LIFE CHURCH

Here at ALC, we have a wide variety of ministries for all ages to be involved in. We believe in having something for everyone. Below you will find a small sample of our main ministries in the church. If you would like more information about any of these or if you would like to get involved as a volunteer in a ministry, please contact us.

Student Ministry (6th Grade - College)

We believe that God is an exciting, life changing and transforming God, who loves to make a difference in the world through young people. We want to see each young person build friendships, encounter the love of God, be encouraged, changed and equipped to impact their world by God’s power.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT - YOUTH SERVICE

6th Grade - College, meets from at 7:00PM. Your friends are always welcome to come along. We meet upstairs in the youth room in the Admin Building.

SUNDAY MORNINGS

We have a class for our students that meets at 11:00AM in the youth room.

Kids Ministry (ages 4-12)

Our children are an important part of the church and and we know we have a responsibility to equip and empower the future generations of our communities, grounding them in a relationship with Jesus and an understanding of the church.
